Missed the point, "Intelectual Property Rights" are what need to be kept in EACH country, it does not matter which home country you are from, it is just way to big of a risk for a company to farm out the "IP" to another country and assume that the property won't get re-manufactured .period.
It has nothing to do with durable or perishable goods............
So you are ok with your bank taking your account number, personal information, account information to another country ?
Not me, sorry, we deal everyday in Identity theft, and if you are ok with haven your identity taken go for it, just don't come back and cry over it.
Corporations need to take Security of "IP" and client information to heart, there are laws in place here in the USA that can send the folks high up on the food chain to jail for MANY MANY years and force them to make admissions that data has been breached to the public ! (bad publicity)

And if you're in Australia, and the business is Telstra?
Telstra owns all the telehone wires & exchanges. Even if I have a third-party deliver my Internet (I do) and telephone (some), Telstra still gets dollars for the use of its wire.
We've been suffering for eons, it seems. We made at least one of the early computers (CSIRAC, the first one that had to work for a living), we used to have a thriving electronics industry, Microbee and IPEX used to design and build home/personal computers here, CMAD made minicomputers (Honeywell clones, true), we used to make photocopiers - I think we invented them or facsimile machines.
Now buy our beef - it's cheaper than yours (without subsidies), our wool (ditto) and wine (ditto) so you can eat, dress warmly and forget your woes.
