Gerard,

Don't do what Ant�nio recommended.  That won't help you at all.

If you start yast, you should be presented with screens to format the DASD
volumes, and how you want them partitioned.

Perhaps you are able to point me in the right direction ,
we are installing Suse8 in LPAR mode , I have got the load off the CD
and am able to telnet to Linux,
my problem is now how do I format the disks'
I have done the 'insmod dasd_mode dasd=***,***' command
but when I do a cat of /proc/dasd/devices it shows the disks as unknown

any ideas
