John: First, there is no such thing as a CFL (except the Canadian Football League). I think you meant ICF (Integrated Coupling Facility). And yes, you are correct that on 9672 G5/G6, z800, and z900 systems IFLs and ICFs were effectively the same. In fact if you defined IFLs and ICFs as shared, it was possible for them to use the same physical processor. There is no programmatic way for an ISV to find out that a zAAP (or IFL for that matter) is installed. However, they are of course free to put anything into contractual terms that you are willing to agree to.
