Get the free version of VMware from http://www.vmware.com. You can then run a real Linux system under Windows, using "bridged ethernet". Of course, I am assuming that you have "local administrator" authority to install VMware on your desktop. Be sure your desktop has enough CPU power for this. I tried it on my 1.8Ghz Celeron here at work and got to take a lot of naps. What I want is an actual Linux/Intel server that is MINE!
