On an Intel box I have SLES 9 running. It is configured to be a YOU server. I download patches/updates from Novell for both the Intel and s390x versions of SLES 9. Until Monday/Tuesday of this week everything has been working fine. Now when I attempt to pull patches (on the Intel box) using YaST Online Update Server Configuration screen and click the "Synchronize now" button I receive an error message stating that "Synchronization failed for" and asks me to check if the url I am connecting to is up and if the userid and password I am using are good. I have tried connecting directly to the url "https://you.novell.com/update" as much as I can tell it looks fine. I logon to the Novell update web site directly with my userid and password and it connects fine. I called Novell and they confirm that their system is up and running and no other calls are being reported. We pay a yearly subscription fee to get the software but do not have a maintenance support contract. Not my decision. The only recommendation I could get from our account rep was to open a pay-up-front support call and see if they can resolve the issue. That too will be a decision someone else will make for me. I would just like to get it to work and thought I would ask this list if anyone has had a similar experience.
I have attached a screen print of the error message I received. <<yast2-000.png>> ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
