There are two generic*.prm files in the iso in the images directory they have
ro ramdisk_size=40000 cio_ignore=all,!condef rd.cmdline=ask (genericdvd)
ro ramdisk_size=40000 cio_ignore=all,!condef (generic)
I started using the support files to IPL in Hercules, and modified the
generic.prm there to increase the ramdisk_size to 65536.
I've made one or two other changes to it; once I dropped the cio_ignore
parameter, and another time I added the rd.cmdline=ask.
This last time I used your version, verbatim, and ended up with the same
result, /dev/root does not exist. Sometimes along the way I've gotten
variations on that theme, /dev/ram0 or /dev/ram1.
It always ends up stopping after the
lcs: Loading LCS driver
message. This particular process runs for 7+ minutes and then stops after
finding...well, NOT finding a root directory.
