My opinion might be a bit biased, but I would recommend FLTK
(available at http://www.fltk.org). It's released under LGPL
and compiles on most *nixes (including linux) and also on Win32
platforms.
It has nice wysiwyg GUI-builder and it's really small. No redundant
code is added to programs not using a particular feature. And don't
be afraid of the fact that it has just gained the 1.0 (actually 1.0.1)
status, it's stable. We've been using it in our project for quite some
time with little or no problems.
