May I disagree? IPv6 is different from IPv4. The header format is totally
different and some subprotocols (for istance ARP) are collapsed in the
standard header. Not to mention the autoconfigure mode.
But it has an high degree of compatibility with IPv4.
You can make easily a TCP application IPv6-aware.
You can tunnel IPv6 over IPv4 and IPv4 over IPv6. You can setup a gateway
that connects an IPv4 network to an IPv6 network.
