On one port a P_to_P link, we use a MTU of 512 its all very well having a
higher MTU but one little spek of noise on the channel and 1500 bytes is a
lot to lose. We get 750+ bps using 512 which we find acceptable.

Anyway my comments about 9600 baud were regarding the origanal posters
"terminal speed" defined in /etc/ax25/axports for communication with his TNC
which he is using at 1200 baud.
