I like the web interface idea as well and for most things it should be fast
enough. Especially if the browser used is quick, like kde's KFM.

Done with a seperate program perhaps? Accessed thru a socket or some sort
of shared interface? Thus multiple programs can control the radio as necessary.
The same goes for antenna control as well.
This is an area where if an interface spec is defined, the control programs
can be written seperately and in whatever language desired.
