You can try the driver at http://linnix.com. I have an add-on ISA card
with CSC4236, but it should work the same.

Hi,
I have a camcorder which records in PAL
format and it has a video out. I would like to buy
a plug in card for my Linux box (RH6.1, with
S3 Trio 64 video card) so that I can capture
video coming from this camera and display it on
the screen. Suggestions as to which cards
to buy would be appreciated.
Thanks

Thanks Hal,
You answered my question before I was able to ask it. I just got the latest
2.2.14 kernel and it gave me the same problem. I'll try to find the patch
that you mention and see if that does the trick.

I've installed Red Hat 6.1 when i start Linux in x mode, as soon as I
move mouse, it goes to the top of the screen and I can't take it from there.
That's problem a configuration problem, so I entered Linux Single and
used pico to edit xf86config. I went to the pointers section but I can't see
where the text corresponding to the configuration is, because every line as

I've installed the Red Hat 6.1 (gnome) distro, but am having problems
figuring out how to configure my display card. In the looking around on
support sites that I've done, I can't find any info on it.
I can't find where/how to change the driver, or the display
resolution/depth settinds (I'm currently stuck in 640/480 256 colours).
I anyone could lend some insight, or direct me to where I could figure
this out, that would be great.

Hello,
I have a similar problem with my modem. I've got an external Boca 33.6. I
pretty sure it is not a winmodem. I have it on com 4 on the motherboard serial
port. I can't get it to work with kppp, minicom, or pppd. I have a I/O card
installed because com1 on the motherboard doesn't work. My guess it that this
is whats causing my trouble. When I try using kppp the TR led comes on but I
get an error message that the modem doesn't respond. I have the same trouble
for the other programs. The modem works just fine on com4 in windows though.

Thanks to all of you for your input,
Although I didn't mention it in my original Post, I had dumped the 64MB module
relativly early, and the memory tests last for approimately 5 hous each ( I did
several in a row ).
Following your suggestion I went to my dealer and he replaced the memory stick
without any trouble. Unfortunately my system died again, severeal hours after
installing the new Module :-(
Assuming that the propability of getting 2 bad modules in a row is very low, I
double checked every jumper on my Mainboard, and found that I had accidentally
put the CPU Core voltage jumpers to a silly setting... ( off-off-on-off instead
of off-on-off-off , the wrong setting is not even documented in my manual).
I'm surprised my system ran so well for all the time without complaining, but I
guess the extra power that the additional RAM drains just caused my CPU to go
unstable ( this assumption is supported by the fact, that having both modules
installed, my system died earlier, i.e. usually within the first 2 hours)
If this really was the problem I'll see within a the next few days ( or
hopefully: won't see)
Again: Thanks for the moral support, I really needed that :-)
Tobias

If this is exact, then you very likely need to reconfigure the UART
type to 16550A. Even though the serial board manual, or even the chip,
may say 16550, it's almost certainly not. Over the years since the
16550A replaced the broken 16550 the marketing suits have blurred
the distinction.
This also just shows what's configured for the device file ttyS0, it
doesn't show whether, e.g., IRQ 4 is the actual IRQ for that serial
port as configured on the board. It also doesn't show whether there's
another process or kernel driver that is already using the serial
port or the IRQ.
Try "cat /proc/interrupts" to show the interrupts *in use* and what
uses them. Check the serial port manual to determine the actual IRQ
for the serial port.
