While this question does not pertain specifically to Linux, I feel that it
has the nature of request-for-help rather than a philosophical one. So
I don't feel that it would be suitable for Hackers-IL.

I am planning to upgrade my Internet connection from ISDN to ADSL.
I noticed that Bezeq now provides three options for ADSL modem ownership:
- Bezeq-owned modem
- Purchase modem from Bezeq
- Purchase my own ADSL modem (as long as it was type-approved).

What is the experience of the list members with those options, and which
of them is recommended? If buying my own modem is the way to go, what
model is to be recommended? What happens if Bezeq cannot make it work
with the particular phone line which I got?

This is important especially given the security and Linux (or, more
correctly, PPTP) compatibility problems of some modems.

I Plan to use my Windows 2000 hard disk when the ADSL line is installed
and tested, and switch back to Linux thereafter.
