did u try good ole cmod 777 on startx,kdm,gdm or whaever u use.
Maybe that'll help. I think that Staroffice being a restricted thing vis
a vis network usage does that to Lin boxes to prevent access by
anyone except one single user ie. root. Nothing wrong with that as
far as good marketting sense goes.
