You can have a Melissa like virus on Linux, if you click on untrusted
perl scripts sent to you by email.
A good virus scan for Linux is to run a package verifier on all the
installed packages. On Redhat, that'd be rpm --verify. For data that
you care about, compute md5 checksums beforehand and see if the checksum
has changed periodically.
