I usually don't like to be drawn into distro and other flame wars,
so I keep silent in such volatile threads. Also, I am not the person
to ask about what is there in Chip's SuSE distribution - ever since I
bought RHL 6.1 and SuSE 6.3, I haven't really used or even mounted one
of these magazine/publisher supplied CDs.

But I would like to point out one thing - as Ravikant Rao pointed out
in a recent posting, this overdependence on sndconfig and yast and other
distro-supplied tools will surely take the fun out of Linux (even though
that particular posting was more of a debian advocacy, the point he made
is well noted).
