I have yamaha sound card recognized and works well in RH6.1 in kde out
of the box. Only for system sounds i have to edit startkde script for
correct file name as soundcard than sound in /etc/sysconfig/soundcard.
In SuSE6.3. I corrected the modules.conf file and put isapnp.conf as in
RH6.1. Now it is recognized during boot by kernel. but still i can't
play CDplayer and also any sound. modprobe sound gives the following.
Using /lib/modules/2.2.13/misc/sound.o
and also some lines indicating modprobe failed. in lsmod i get the
following

soundcore 2340 0 (autoclean) (unused)
serial 42932 1 (autoclean)
memstat 1604 0 (unused)
nls_iso8859-1 2236 2 (autoclean)
any solution to use sound in suse6.3 and its KDE is welcome.
