Hi Narain,
First of all apologies. I know you had posted earlier mail to me that you have setup
lilo with ontrack os. I just lost the mail. Could not trace the person who sent me the
mail.:-)

Correct. If ontrack OS is not started than win98 fdisk shows the HDD as 8.4GB but if
after
starting ontrack OS if I run win98 fdisk it shows full 17GB :-)

My linux partition is not primary. It is extended partition. I cannot make the
partition active
since it is an extended partition.
1. Yes. BLUE ONTRACK load indication is still coming and than the menu which I had
setup in
config.sys is coming to boot windows, SuSE6.3 etc.
2. After bios is through no error messages, directly the ONTRACK OS starts.
My Partition table is as follows :
<SNIP>
rajesh:~ # fdisk -l /dev/hda

Units = cylinders of 4032 * 512 bytes

Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary:

If I don't put linear in /etc/lilo.conf than running /sbin/lilo -v gives the following
error :
<SNIP>
rajesh:/etc # /sbin/lilo -v
LILO version 21E, Copyright 1992-1998 Werner Almesberger
Reading boot sector from /dev/hda7
Merging with /boot/boot.b
Warning: device 0x0307 exceeds 1024 cylinder limit
geo_comp_addr: Cylinder number is too big (5353 > 1023)
try the LINEAR option (or -l) if you have a 'INT 13 extensions' capable BIOS.
<SNIP>
After putting linear in /etc/lilo.conf the results are as follows :
<SNIP>
rajesh:/etc # /sbin/lilo -v
LILO version 21E, Copyright 1992-1998 Werner Almesberger
Reading boot sector from /dev/hda7
Merging with /boot/boot.b
Boot image: /boot/vmlinuz
Added linux
Boot other: /dev/hda1, loader /boot/chain.b
Added win *
/boot/boot.0307 exists - no backup copy made.
Writing boot sector.
rajesh:/etc #
<SNIP>
What should I do ?
Thanks
Regards
