Hi man,
Lots of stuff there in u'r mail. Like U said, there is *NO* primary
partition in u'r disk for linux - in which case *AFAIK* U will not be able
to use LILO to boot to linux. This is the reason why most of us prefer to
have a small /boot of 10-20MB (apart from the fact that we get over the
1024 cylinder limitation in older LILO), and put the rest of the data on
an extended partition as it does not take up a separate entry in the
partition table and reduce the possibilities of having a greater number of
OS's (lesser than 4 in any case) on the same HDD.
Can someone please tell us if it is possible to boot from a logical
partition by using LILO? I don't think thats possible...
As for the confusion with LINEAR, I'm looking at the docs and I'll post my
findings in a day or so...
