Hi Ajay,
What I meant was LILO is in MBR, but my linux was on an extended partition ( 6.4 GB
HDD ).
Now the problem is in MBR there is Ontrack OS(This is essential for detecting 17GB HDD
- since
my bios does not support more than 8.4 GB HDD. )
When I run /sbin/lilo it shows :
Added Linux
Added Win*
But when I reboot the same Ontrack OS is started and LILO prompt is nowhere. So again
it is the menu from config.sys and than linux option (using loadlin).
My partition table is as follows :
<SNIP>
root@rajesh:/home/rajesh > fdisk -l /dev/hda
Disk /dev/hda: 64 heads, 63 sectors, 25698 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 4032 * 512 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hda1 * 1 1040 2096451 b Win95 FAT32
Partition 1 does not end on cylinder boundary:
phys=(260, 254, 63) should be (260, 63, 63)
/dev/hda2 1040 8352 14739637+ f Win95 Ext'd (LBA)
Partition 2 does not end on cylinder boundary:
phys=(1022, 254, 63) should be (1022, 63, 63)
/dev/hda5 1040 2084 2104483+ b Win95 FAT32
