Wow wow... Somebody is going my way..
OK, Go for Asus mobo.9300/- for mobo+CPU. Good one and recomended by AMD
itself. Supports 100MHz FSB (though that killed my RAM today). Don't
forget to get a 100MHz RAM otherwise no use... Also use the cables for HDD
etc. that comes with mobo.. It's very important to use good cables..
Display card, search on RedHat site for supported one and decide which one
you can afford and which are avaialble...
Today my PC aborted kernel compilation due to SIG 11. I think I need to
change my RAM as it's operating on 100MHz FSB.. Any other suggestions?
BTW, I installed KDE workstation, RHL 6.2, o AMD K6 500 in 7.53 minutes.
It was with 32x CD drive and 64MB RAM and 589MB install. Is this fast
enough? Can anyone give me other figures for comparison? On celeron 400,
it used to take 14 minutes..
Bye
