The problem is with the display card. Just type "linux 3" at the
LILO prompt. This starts linux in level 3 instead of level 5. Presently ur
linux is configured to run in level 5. When linux starts this time u wud
get your normal login prompt. Login and open the file /etc/inittab.
Somewhere u wud see a 5 (on the first page itself). Change it to 3. Save
and exit. Now u could try configuring ur display card.
This problem occurs because ur display card was not configured & u
started the linux in level 5 which is the graphical mode. Once ur display
card is configured check it using "startx" & then u can switch back to
level 5. Until then level 3 (text mode) would be useful to u.
