Hi,

Go into interactive mode during linux startup,at a point during starup messages u will 
be getting a message saying Press I for interactive mode,when you go into this mode it 
will prompt you to start various services,say "yes" & in the end u get the

bash#


here u go to /etc & edit inittab file & change the level from 5 to 3 & save the file & 
reboot ur system,this way u will go into run-level three(3) rather than five(5) as is 
ur case where it is going into X-windows mode,

When u go into ur run-level three configure ur vga-card to make X-windows work
