ohhhh... if you had said so specifically ... this is a FAQ at
http://www.sendmail.org/faq/ - and in that case, you'd use the MX of your US
server as the backup MX (how to do local delivery for some users but pass
others to a smarthost for delivery).  

the system you mentioned is pretty ok if you are trying to do local delivery
for _your_ domain

(and play around with the libmilter on sendmail 8.11.x if you know c and perl)
