My results : 


[root@localhost ashwind]# cd /
[root@localhost /]# hdparm -Tt /dev/hda7
 
/dev/hda7:
 Timing buffer-cache reads:   128 MB in  1.21 seconds =105.79 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  64 MB in  3.17 seconds = 20.19 MB/sec
