 I would suggest you to use apache 2 and kernel2.4. It should at least sustain
more than 5000 concurrent connections.(an educated guess. Shouldn't go wrong by
much...)

Don't bother about alpha status of apache 2. You know, these guys tag the
software as alpha/beta just for sake of completeness. The software works
actually...;-)

And you meant 256MB right? Not 256 KB....;-)
