It's just same as mandrake and I hope you are aware of 1024 voodoo.. Swap yes, home no.. Not recommended. Two distros will have different versons of same programs so they are unlikely to share same conf files.. Do not share /home. It will save you a lot of pain.. If you want to play around debian, get woody and give it more than a gig... should be enough.. As far as differences go, it's different. How much different is upto you..;-) Very different is my opinion..
