Appearence of course can be deceptive, but debain installation
appears different from Mandrake; I'd to do it a couple of times
to get the hang of it. But, don't let that discourage you.

But you can mount /home locally.

Right, esp. if you are a die-hard X'ian. Debian has X-3.3.6
which doesn't support some of the newer boards; I'd to shift to
console on my i810 system... can't say I miss X now.
