I didn't mean you *can't* do that. Problem is different distros have different version of same program, say KDE(OK KDE is good deal backward compatible at least in major revisions) but then not all of them will play good across version. Atul (Chitnis) had an article about multiple linux installs on same machine, way back in 1999 ( I guess, I am too old to remember correctly).. He had some other good points as well. I will post the url if I find that article at home.. I had some print issues from that time, primarily because it was best source of linux software then..
