Hi,
Well.. I have been using Gnus since two years now. Shifted to mutt in
between and then came back to Gnus. Ask me why ? I probably would not be
able to tell you. Gnus is as flexible as Mutt and both are mature Mail
Clients. Mutt is probably the lightest email client ( No, I will not
talk about elm right now ;) and featured. Whereas Gnus is a heavier
client with lot more features and an OS around it ;) ( that would be
Emacs ;)

It is more about how comfortable you are with anything. I am more
comfortable with Gnus, than I am with mutt. And then I do a lot more
with gnus. Of course, there is a little overhead in getting Gnus to do
what you want, but it is worth the effort ;)
Have fun
Regards
Sid
