This is my last mail on this thread as this is going way way OT, I
guess Ken's mail just reinforced the bias that Sharninder was talking about.
But the point is one may not have the time or interest to learn another
language and people should be ready to acknowledge that.

But i would differ from Sharninder's view, its just that bengalis, mostly
are'nt very comfortable speaking other languages ( filmi babumoshai stereotypes
aside ;)

OTOH i had been to pune's LUG, there the conversation used to be almost
allways in english. But sometimes an excited animated puneri conversation
would  break up  between me and a new guy sitting next to me. Nods, smiles
and sharing of the excitement usually got the message across.
