Which is why I said to build it from a central database. Put every user in the virtusertable, with apopropriate mappings and generate the virtusertable at every location automatically via a script. This keeps managing things simpler (one database which generates your virtusertable and keeps local mail local). Plus the users has /one/ address, which is a major benefit.
Not really - keeping virtusertables synced across 4 locations plus a central server is a pain - even if you use ldap / mysql etc.
There is anyway no need for the central server to have a view of users on assorted subdomain servers.
