Good enough. What does hdparm -tT gives? It's a simple ebnchmark so run it while you are not doing anything else.. > hdparm /dev/hda shows DMA is already turned on (=1). That's not HDD.. Get a shining new kernel and it will be warp 10 then..:-) Usually /sbin/hdparm -d1 /dev/hda in /etc/rc.d/rc.local is sufficient. Rest kernel will figure it out..
