Cool, you're better off than me: I could never get the Kerberos part
of it working. However I found that I could do everything without
having Kerberos enabled -- share files and printers from the Linux
machine and access Winduhs shares and printers.

Arvind> Another problem I am facing is that, when i want to access
Arvind> a share on this linux box, then i am forced to add users
Arvind> by the same name as in the AD. And then, i dont need any
Arvind> authentication, it allows me to directly access the share
Arvind> without a passwd unlike earlier times when i had to do a
    Arvind> smbpasswd.

Hmm, I just use the AD users directly: add winbind to the passwd and
group entries in /etc/nsswitch.conf. getent passwd and getent group
will show you whether you're able to access the Winduhs users and
group list or not. Once that works (and your net join is successful)
you will be able to users defined on the ADS as local users, without
having to create an account for each individually.

Arvind> Now, i want that, there should be a common place for
Arvind> people to put their files. Of course, the common sharable
Arvind> option works well in the smb.conf file where there is a
Arvind> common share for all users , but i am forced to add users
Arvind> to the box. If i am able to issue a ticket to my linux box
Arvind> to mount my windows shares over the network, cant i make
Arvind> samba to sync with the AD so that, it authenticates users
Arvind> without bothering about a similar user being added to the
    Arvind> box ?
