Perhaps you would like Net::Server? Or Todd Bennett's SMTPprox suitably
modified? Some of us like simple config files and filesystem standards
compliance, with tools which can flex to our requirements.

POP before SMTP is not a SMTP function. It doesn't need a SMTP patch
(unless you use DRAC).

Why? Properly designed code will just scale up. You need to design your
architecture properly.

I like a small, securely written program which gives me all the bells
and whistles supported by the author. To each their own. Diversity is
