Agree that this would be a far better thing. But qmail-smtpd.c is just 421 lines. Adding a call to mysql_query() function in qmail-smtpd.c does the trick (for MySQL).
That's definitely an option. No need of the full spamcontrol patch for this though - this is just one of the patches in spamcontrol - his "RECIPIENTS" extension.
If you are using this on your qmail to reject "at the gate" (5xx at rcpt to) how do you find its performance?
