Ack.

Yet another set of newbie questions:
1. If I wish to merely test whether my card is working or not, would just a
simple set of headphones help ? I wish to test that audio is available on all
the connectors.

2. If I have mono or stereo mp3, will it automatically be available on all the
channels/connectors ? Perhaps you have answered this earlier in this thread,
but I didn't understand.

3. Do I need to play with the .asoundrc file ?

Ack. Thanks.

Hmm :-)

Thanks for all the information and advice. I really appreciate it, especially
when I've no access to any other newbie level information on 5.1 sound.
