Shanu, Venu, Khader, Jiju, bacha lo!
You will please help me configure my AGP S3 Trio 3D/2X card on Linux Rh
6.1.
I have many questions for you.
1. What does 2X mean?
2. Is this a card based on a ViRGE chipset?
3. RAM DAC speed is given as 230 MHz. What is RAMDAC and how can we tell
X
about this capability of chip? [I believe that by default, the
probed value
{against -- in output of X -probeonly} is 170 MHz]
4. The option, 'mclk value'... what does it do? I have NOTHING referring
to this,
in the literature I got with my card. Is it same as the speed of RAM
dedicated to Video? [In my case 100 MHz]
2. The X always handgs while using XF86Setup. I mean, it is desperately
slow.
Last night I was up till 3:00 am trying to configure.. It simply did
not work.
Every time X tool about 10 minutes to load. And could not be killed.
Mode switching was also impossible.
3. The chipset is 86C268 [with 8 MB SD RAM] on board. It is not listed
as an option. I believe we come close to 265 but not 268. What are the
differences?
The card works fine in Windows so I am sure that there is NO
conflict/problem with the card as per workmanship. Do reply guys. kal hi
1700/- ka khareeda hain.. abhi gaali mat dena.
Waiting. Do reply,
Rohit
