It that case the time zone should be fixed on the OS/2 machine. Or start
looking again for a better server program for your OS/2 machine.

That's all it takes to change a root password? That doesn't seem very

Don't have an 'official' pronounciation, just a BBC conspiracy. It works on
consensus like the British COnstitution.

Go to mozilla.org and look at gecko. Faster, leaner meaner and complies with

Well, maybe that's true outside California:
Great wine (we send seedlings *back* to France when they had a blight),
though Chile, Australia and South Africa are catching up quickly...
Food? California cuisine r0cks! Where else can you eat
japanese-mexican-eskimo influenced food while listening to Ubangi
dinner music.
Art? Come on, we got it all ... the tasteless, the provocative, the
transient ... that's good Art!
Literature? Jack London, John Steinbeck,... and don't forget all those
great User's Guides.
Plus we have Silicon Valley ...
Just having a little fun, here...

ANd I thought that the technology was invented in britain, made in Asia
and sold to us by americans..
Britain is a rainy, cold country. We took our criminals and shipped them
to a warm sunny country (a long time ago).
We invented the television
They gave us Neighbours and Home and Away.
We invented cricket
They gave us the ashes.
(Just to add a bit more to the us and them debate)

This assumes we are talking about a source package. Object packages
usually doesn't come with a make file, so make -n or make uninstall
won't do anything. Some packages does come with an uninstall shell
secript, which should be able to uninstall the package properly.
Other packages will install entirely in it's own subdirectory, in
which case removing this subdirectory and its contents would be
sufficient.

Sorry, but with a behaviour like this you won't find many people

Yes, for ext2 filesystems, partial recovery may be possible using
debugfs and other tools. See the Ext2fs-Undeletion mini-howto for details.
The most important thing is to unmount the filesystem as soon as possible
after deleting the files. Also, the mc file manager provides an interface
for recovering deleted files from ext2 filesystems. For example, in mc you
can type 'cd undel://dev/hda1' and get a list of files that can be
recovered.
The Ext2fs-Undeletion mini-howto can be found at
http://metalab.unc.edu/LDP/Ext2fs-Undeletion-1.html
and mc (Midnight Commander) can be found at
http://www.gnome.org/mc/

It is not a safe design. It would be less of a problem to use a microcontroller
and use the serial line to talk to it. You can make something real cheap with
an Atmel or PIC microcontroller. It's more reliable and you don't have to worry
about zapping the PC or yourself. A safe control would imply that you isolate
your parallel port with optos, it can be a pain and much more expensive than
just a small microcontroller. You can get a demo board from Atmel for about $50
or build your own for less. Atmel gives the assembler. Microchip got some nice
stuff too.
In a few months I'll have a low cost C Compiler for the Atmel chips.
I'll eventually have a working version for Linux with remote debugger.
The OS/2 and winblows version will come this year. Linux, it depends how long it takes
IBM to release Visual Age for C++ for Linux. If they don't it's a major change for
me to make a version for Linux.

Same problem here except that I don't get the apple stuff.
After I do a insmod ppp_deflate I only get the message with 21 (twice)
This isn't the only thing screwed up, the sound is. It refuses to load opl3
on boot even though it is listed in the conf.modules. I manage to load it with insmod.
Forget about the generic one, you get a couple of not found symbol messages.
One is to assume that whoever tested this doesn't use the sound or ppp.

Nothing wrong with RedHat, I've installed it on several machine without any
problem. You should say what kind of CDROM drive you got, that may help.
My CDROM drives are Mitsumi and Standard Atapi, works great on all them.
