I just installed Wine to run some DOS/WIn3.1 soft in Linux.
I work in UNIX/LINUX for many years, but ....
strange/crazy things go on: Linux does not execute/does
not see some programs.
I run Caldera Linux 2.0.29, everything was fine, but what is this?
Linux run some and does not want to run some at all :
cmmrboot 176% pwd

My default Shell is "csh". You see I try "bash" - all is the same.
Program "wine" has been installed following the instruction. It was
compiled with gcc-2.7.2.3 on a RedHat Linux 5.1 system.
I have got the binary from

Hi all linxuers,
I'm trying to set up a terminal server where from scatch.
I have RedHate 5.2 using multi-port serial card (Comtrol Rocketport32 )
I have pulled together information from various sources
and trying to piece them togther.
I'm still trying to figure things out and
I'm not sure if I'm installed all the modules correctly.
I also hope that this will serve as a complete

I have downloaded the following files
comtrol-1.15.tar.gz drv for rockport32
portslave-1_16_tar.tar for dial-in
radiusd-cistron-1_5_3_tar.tar for auth/authorization/account

installed and compiled it to /usr/local/portslave.
edit /usr/local/portslave/etc/server.cfg

add following ( what's the purpose ? ? ? ? ?)

Here in the Netherlands; the province of Zeeland ('Sea-land',

This has been discussed repeatedly in this news group. The problem comes
from the fact that you left unused modules under the directory:
/lib/modules/<kernel>. You can either delete the unneeded modules
by hand, or clear out the entire directory tree and repeat the
make modules
make modules_install
Make clean should clear out the modules, but it doesn't.

Thanks for the answer. In configure I find the line
ac_unique_file=x11amp/main.c
and that file exists:
/tmp/x11amp-0.9/x11amp/main.c
But the errors described above says that configure can not find the sources in or ..,
ie
the only two directories it tries are "" and "..". But even if I replace "" with the
real
directory it still can't find the sources.

I recently installed vmware in linux without problem.
However, I've had problems using the DGA capable server
and their tools package, and couldn't find any solutions
on their webpage.
First, I installed the XFCom_3DLabs server, and it runs
fine, but when I load up vmware, it tells me that:
XFree86 direct graphics (DGA extension) initialization failed
Does anyone have any idea why this would fail, and what I
can do to fix it?
Second, I can boot into win95 in vmware fine, but when I
try to execute the supplied tools package, I get a
"move error", or something to that effect. Again, any clues
on this one?
Thanks.

You don't mount an audio CD, because it doesn't have a filesystem on it.
You stick it in the unit and play it directly.

toute autre chose.

the uid, gid and umask version are in effect only for fat type filesystem

why? the reason no one likes the company is b/c no one likes the software
they make. The software sucks. WHy do you think people are migrating from
MS to Linux? Linux is better quality.

yeah more than likely if that was the case people woudn't be so angry at
them, viruses wouldn't be created against them and basically there would be
no reason to hate them. But the reality is none of that is true. We have to
pay out tons of money, somtimes every 6 months for new versions of software
(and an OS on less frequent terms), and the software crashes constantly and
with a lot of products like Frontpage 98 and Word 97 it doesn't do what
people want it to do and/or it does it its own way instead of th way the user
wants it to be done.

Use the mkisofs command to create the image; once that's done, you can
mount the ISO CD-ROM image using the command:
mount -o loop,ro [filename] [mount point]
