Yes it does. I believe there is a HOWTO for it. Also you need to compile
you kernel to support parallel storage devices.

Nah, anarchy would fail for the same reasons,...but it is the only

Yes, and when you use a kernel for which the product was not designed,
you can expect to have problems.

What dead end? Redhat still supports 4.2 for example-- see all the
updates.
A new kernel is not a trivial change and can break lots of things. Major
kernel changes interact with the rest of the system through different
system calls, etc. Why do you expect it to be trivial?

Well, perhaps, and that is fine. However I have seen too many people
upgrade, just because it is there, and then complain that the upgrade
was not trivial. If you have to upgrade, or if the upgrade has things
you need, that is fine.

Subject: adns - alternative resolver library 0.1 ALPHA released
Date: Mon, 26 Apr 1999 14:11:41 +0100 (BST)

The first public release of adns, 0.1 ALPHA, is now available.

adns is an advanced, easy to use, asynchronous-capable DNS stub
resolver library for C (and C++) programs. For a full list of
features and benefits, see the adns www page, listed below.

This release is made available for review and testing.
Unfortunately there is no documentation yet, but experienced
programmers should find the commented public API header file
comprehensible.

For more information, including details of the adns mailing lists,
full documentation on-line and the distribution files, visit
 http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~ian/adns/
adns is also available via the GNU FTP site and its mirrors, listed
below. 0.1 ALPHA should be available at most mirrors by now.

If you have queries, please join the adns-discuss mailing list in
preference to mailing the author. Thank you.

Second, if you got to the point where ndd does not help anymore, you probably
have to inspect each file with the disk editor and determine which files belong
together. You get the 32k file size because that is the cluster size on your FAT
partition.

Third, if your data is really important, you should probably contact one of the
data recovery houses. They are very expensive, but sometimes the data is worth
it. Your call.

Fourth, if your data is important, you should have made backups.

Fifth, run a virus checker in the background, if you need to run Windoze at all.

Sixth, this is a Linux news group.

I believe an ovum cannot have a Y chromosome (but I know nothing
about human gametes, so salt liberally). What is a fact though
is that nature is pretty good at diagnosing genetic anomalies, and
most non-viable combinations/mutations are aborted in early
pregnancy. Most often the woman only notices a late period.

This is indeed true. From my experience, most clicks and other noises occur
during the audio extraction. This is caused by extracting the audio files at
too great a speed on flakey hardware, and can be alleviated to a great degree
by extracting the audio files at a lower speed.

Hi! I am playing with SYN flood under Linux. I want to send a TCP RST to
the half-open connections in the SYN_RECV state to free them up. Unfortunately,
it appears that I must have the correct sequence number for RST TCP packet;
otherwise, it is ignored. How do I get this information from the kernel?
It would be nice if netstat could return sequence # information.

Any and all help is appreciated,

Subject: Re: Burning playable music CD's

So far no one (although one person came close) has established the real
problem here for not being able to play cdrws in a cd player. CDRs work
b/c they reflect more light. CDRWs don't reflect as much light which
since any CD device uses a laser the drive/player can't read the
difference between pits and mountains b/c the amount of light they
reflect isn't great enough for a drive/player to tell the difference
between them. Most of the time, if not all the time, you will notice
that the player doesn't even recognize that a CDRW is in the tray so
therefore it wouldn't , and it couldn't, read/play the cd.

You can play the CDRW in the CDRW drive b/c the CDRW drive has a laser
made to read the little amount of light that CDRWs reflect. Most audio
cd players weren't designed to play CDRWs b/c most weren't made when
people used CDRWs to put audio on. Some CDROM drives can't read them
either b/c of the same reason: they weren't made with CDRW
compatibility in mind.

So the reason why the original poster couldn't get any sound from a CDRW
in an audio cd player is b/c the player couldn't detect the little
amount of light that the cd was reflecting. The other reasons could
come into play of course but obviously not in this case b/c he said it
plays fine in his CDRW drive. Also if anyone cares CDRWs dont' work in
a Playstation either b/c the Playstation doesn't have a sensitive enough
laser.

Most windowmaker dock apps are ready to dock as soon as they are run.
Some, like wmcdplay and wmmixer, require a command line option to be
dockable. For wmcdplay and wmmixer that option is -w (for withdrawn).
The command would be "wmcdplay -w". For other programs I have seen
-withdrawn. You can check the command line options with -h, -help, or
--help. After docking the app, remember to right click on its border
and set it to run when windowmaker starts.

Hope this helps.

It should be the same as in regular males--the two X are the same,
so if the defect is there, it is there twice; the rarity in females
comes from the second *independent* X.
