I've never used asp, but if it is what I think it is:
emb_perl can be used to embed perl in html documents
i'm sure there's something similar for python
php
jrunner
alternatives to ms-access ? how about mSQL, mySQL, postgreSQL
and all the biggies (oracle, informix, sybase, db2)
for really *small* databases you can use gdbm or xml
http://www.freshmeat.net is a great resource for finding this stuff.

There are equivalent programs for PDF, actually. It's basically the
same problem as OCR, but easier since you don't have to recognize the
letters.

I have installed Netscape Communicator 4.6.1 on Debian 2.1, Kernel
2.0.36. When I start Netscape, I get messages about libraries not
found. Some of these, such as libXpm.so.4, are on my system in
/usr/X11R6/lib. Some, like libstcd++, are not on my system. I have
libc6 and libc5 installed. How do I get Netscape to work? (Do I need
YET ANOTHER version of libc? Or do I need another library? Or do I
need to set some shell variable? Or...?)

There are some dynamic configuration parameters so issue this at prompt
echo 4096 > /proc/sys/kernel/file-max
echo 10000 > /proc/sys/kernel/inode-max
there are more but this will get rid off your problem.
you must put this in your rc initialization script, so the next
time you boot your system this parameters will be set.
Maybe /etc/rc.d/rc.local

Nope. killall works fine on my Debian system (mostly "unstable", with
kernel 2.0.36). 'killall -V' says:

There's no HOWTO per se, but there is a web site: http://www.postfix.org
(actually, that gives you a list of quite a few mirrors).

Three things to check:
1) The /etc/postfix/main.cf file. In particular, check the mydestination
setting. It should include both $myhostname and localhost.$mydomain.
Likewise, you should check the settings for $myhostname and $mydomain.
You could also try a brute-force approach, and put
"localhost.localhost.localdomain" in as one of the mydestination
options.
2) Your host name settings. Since you say you're using Mandrake, it's
probably easiest to set this from linuxconf.
3) Your fetchmailrc file, wherever it is. It's probably configured to
send mail to "localhost". You could try setting this to the actual
machine name instead.
Basically, what's happening is that fetchmail is trying to send to
"localhost," only that gets translated into
"localhost.localhost.localdomain" because something along the way is
interpreting "localhost.localdomain" as your domain name (sans
hostname). It's possible that option #1 will correct the problem by
making postfix recognize "localhost.localhost.localdomain" as itself.
This is rather inelegant, but it ought to work. Setting a regular
fully-qualified domain name and telling fetchmailrc to deliver to it
rather than to "localhost" alone should also fix the problem.
In any event, I do suggest you read through the entire
/etc/postfix/main.cf file, since it's pretty well commented and can
therefore be rather informative.
Note that if you send e-mail via postfix, you'll definitely want to have a
valid hostname (either set on the computer itself or on the myhostname
line in /etc/postfix/main.cf). You may also want/need to look into
the address rewriting options of postfix. For instance, if you're using a
dialup ISP called rhubarb.net, and you're [EMAIL PROTECTED], but on your
Linux machine you're alexf and the machine is called nowhere.man, then you
can use the address rewriting to change mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED] so
most of the header addresses reflect the address [EMAIL PROTECTED] This
will prevent a lot of mail bounces from sites that put strict anti-spam
rules in place.

That's my point exactly. Try fvwm. You might like it. Or even twm or mwm. In

be even simpler.

I have installed redhat 6.0 on my machine a few times, and I
am trying to duplicate something that accidentally happened
on a previous install. I started out booting into X with
Gnome and enlightment. I switched to KDE and I was able to
see the menu items from Gnome and Another Level under KDE's
personal menu. I really liked this, because it has the icon
for linuxconf and other utilities. But I forgot to put the
C compiler and a few other things in, and I wanted to make
the partions bigger, so I just reinstalled linux from
scratch. Now the icons for the other window managers don't
show up under the personal menu in KDE, and I can't figure
out what I did to get them there in the first place. They
just appeared on their own(so it seems). Any help or
suggestions are appreciated! :) Thanks...

Not that I know of.
Why are you wanting to do this in the first place? Do you have to
edit them under MS Word, or are you just looking for a means to find a
format usable by Windows machines so you can pass files along to
colleagues for viewing? If the latter is the case, you might want to
play with "ps2pdf" (probably already installed on your system by
default)... a nifty little command-line tool that can translate most
PostScript files into Adobe Acrobat PDF format, which is usable (though
not EDIT-able, unfortunately) on just about any Windows-based machine.

Does anyone have this strange problem. I think it only happends on
netscape. When people put an end parentesis it shows up as a "|". I
find this strange. The main thing is, it is hard to read other people's
code. Looks something like this.
#include iostream.h
void main (|
{
if (1 > 2 | {cout<<"The day has come, one is now greater than
two"<<endl;}
elseif (1 == 2 | {cout<<"The day has come, one is now equal to
two"<<endl;}
else {cout <<"Today is your normal boring day"<<endl;}
}
this is how things look to me.

There is a company called Accusoft Enterprises which has
a terminal emulator called AccuTerm. Recently, they released
AccuTerm Internet edition which is exactly that, a html based
terminal emulator. I believe it requires IE4 though. I played with
it for a few days, haven't tried using it through a firewall yet.
it worked pretty good, several emulations, custom
