On my system it uses the es1370 module. I enter the line below into
/etc/conf.modules and then log out and login. I have heard that some of
the SB128 PCI cards use the es1371 module so you may want to try it
also.
alias sound-slot-0 es1370
Or:
/usr/sbin/setup
Choose sound config.

What I see is that you fail to answer questions and keep changing your focus
when you stated goals are shown to be flawed. You have made many claims of
what should be but you have been more mercurious than hermes. You have used
empty phrases and invalid terminology to describe your goals, what ever they
are.
How about providing us with a concrete example of what you are proposing?
It does not have to be something big, just something simple like the "touch"
or the "yes" programs. Show how you would encode it to "render" the program
and install it on Linux (all platforms supported by Linux), BSD (pick you
favorite BSD), Solaris, MS-Dos, Windows NT, Windows 95, Forth, and to make
things interesting PET, CBM, TRS-80, Apple ][, Apple ][+, Series 1,
System 34, System 36, and an DOS/VS on an IBM 360 and OS on a IBM 370.

I wonder if he realises you can practically do that with Mozilla now.
Take Chatzilla for example; you click on the "install Chatzilla"
button and Mozilla takes the .xpi file and installs it. It's platform
independant and easy. If Mozilla were to grow into a desktop shell,
then this ideal could be at least partially realised.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the multisession problem
with Sony drives described in README.sony coming with cdrecord package,
saying
"The Sony CDU-924 drive has no hardware support for CDROM XA2 mode 1.
If you want to create a multi session disk, you need to switch back to
-data (plain CD-ROM)
There is currently a bug in the Sony code of cdrecord that does
not allow you to have different track types in one session.",
because this HP 9100(or 9110) is virtually Sony CRX 140E.
And I tried to use '-data' option instead of '-multi', but it wrote
and fixated the disk as a single session, so no further session could
be written.
Anyone has a fix for this??

Hello again, I tried to post here a couple of days ago, but my ISP's server was
down... Anyway:
I tried this and I get:
/ is busy
messages (something similar anyway). I have had a look at what is going on,
and the only thing running is the login shell...
Does anyone know how I can get around this problem?
If I try and e2fsck anyway, it warns me that I will probably screw something up
running it on a mounted filesystem, so i haven't done that :) (I'm only mostly
stupid, not completely :)
Regards
Quentin.

This is probably due to the fact that Red Hat generally ships with a

That can be changed.

As a wise man said, any advanced technology would appear as magic to a
primative. No wonder you are having trouble installing software and are
hoping for miracle solutions. I on the other hand am not a primative I
understand just how the software and hardware operate. I can assure you
there is no magic involved. It is technology based on sound scientific
principles that make the computers work. Do you know that programs can
exist without computer storage? So your statement that storage defines the
software is a invalid.

That is what I thought, you are incorrectly using the word "platform".

Pardon?
