I have Netscape Communicator 4.75. I hangs on websites with Java or
Java Script. There is not much you can do about it except
turn Java or Java Script off. or turn on the Java Console to see the
Java command causing you the problem. Hopefully the upcoming Netscape
6.0 will be more stable with Java and Java Script.

Install a fresh linux install on a your big hard drive using the same
partitions numbering scheme as your old drive.
Log in as a single user mode
Mount your smaller hard drive.
Do a copy of everything under / directory (except for /boot and /proc)
i.e.
# cp -a /mnt/harddisk/bin /bin
# cp -a /mnt/harddisk/dev /dev
   etc

The rules can be found in the /etc/magic file, and "man 5 magic" will
explain the format of the file.

The 'magicfilter' lpr filter package uses magic numbers stored in it's
filters. Likely other filter systems use similar magic number
packages, or /etc/magic to determine how to print file data.

set editing-mode vi

And you have permanent "set -o vi". You can put the same line in
$HOME/.inputrc if you also unset INPUTRC, if you wan't this to be
a private setting.

what's up? It works fine under Win98se.
