I have a similar problem with my LG 8081B CDR drive. Note that mine
works fine with the Disk at Once recording, but totally bombs out with a
similar error message to yours in track at once mode.
I am suspecting some obscure bug in
cdrecord. I have sent Schilling a message with the output but have not
heard from him.
On mine, DAO is fine as long as you make sure that you have the 2
seconds of absolute silence at the end of each track. Otherwise,
cdplayers cannot find the starts of the tracks. (I thought one was
supposed to be able to index into continuous bands of music, but
whatever cdrecord does, it does not create a CD which is useable by the
cdplayers I have.)

Of course it is _possible_, but the question is how smart is it?
The ISO/ANSI C Standard says that the main() function must be
defined to return type int. If you want the benefits of using
ISO/ANSI Standard C, you have to follow the rules...
Additionally, there is simply _no_ valid reason on a Linux
system to declare main() as anything other than an int.

I could be wrong, but last I heard there is no NetBus for UNIX or GNU.
Probably what is happening is that some /other/ program is running on
those ports, and nmap just thinks it's NetBus because of the
particular ports that are open.
However, there's one easy way to be sure - run "netstat -p", which
will list all sockets in use, and the program names/pids which are
using them.

If exit status is unimportant, how about
int main() {

return ( 0 );

Hello to the group...
I have just Bought a copy of Mandrake 7.2, and finally installed it and got
it running (amazing) for a three year Windows user.
Anyway it's great, except for one really small problem.
The fonts on the desktop, Help Section and Various other places are so
small i didn't even notice they were there at first. Setting the Desktop
icon fonts to small gets them the biggest, setting them to medium or large
makes them so small they are pinpricks, and the help files are unreadable.
Can anyone help Please.

I had the same problem on a redhat system and fixed it with the
following.
Edit /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ppp0 and just below the
"PAPNAME=" line add the "PEERDNS=" below.
PAPNAME=
PEERDNS=no
Then edit the /etc/resolv.conf file back to the way you want it and then
run "chattr +i" command on it.
chattr +i /etc/resolv.conf
Then edit the /etc/ppp/resolv.conf back to what you want it and run the
"chattr +i" command on it.

Or better yet:
int main() {
/* your code here */
return 0;
}
The extra parens make return look like a function call when it
isn't. For some reason that always bugs me. ;)

Subject: HP Pavilion n5135 X Windows
Date: Tue, 23 Jan 2001 21:28:10 GMT
I have the following installation:
- RedHat Linux 7.0
- Installed on HP Pavillion notebook 5135
- Installed on primary dos partition
(boot up with Linux boot CD instead of separate partition)
I have successfully Linux, but there are two problems:
1. My BIOS or some other location is defaulting the screen
to a very small screen size when the BIOS starts up and the
leaves the screen small and centered on the LCD screen. For a brief
second upon booting the screen is full size and then shrinks before the
options come up to escape or f2 etx. This
makes it very difficult to run linux...
Screen:
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
X X
X XXXXXXXXXXX X
X X screen! X X
X X X X
X XXXXXXXXXXX X
X X
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
How do I change this so that the BIOS and whatever is loaded on top
uses the full screen? Why would they want the screen to be smaller
anyway?
2. Display Settings:
I could not find specs on my monitor screen such as refresh rate etc.
I finally got a setting to work with a non-interlaced screen with 1024
* 768 resolution and with 8 bit color. Surely there must be a way to
get better color! If you could help me with that I'd appreciate it =)
Thanks so very very much for taking time to read this. If I was
unclear about anything please ask because I'd really appreciate your
help...

Hi,
I have a Linux system with 256 RAM Mb, but Linux shows and uses 64Mb
only.
It worked util two days ago. I removed a SCSI disk and tape and
reformatted the system partition / but not /home.
BIOS at boot shows the correct value, 256, and it does the count (long
count).
Someone have a clue?

You're right. PortSentry is the culprit. It was me fiddling around trying

Hi. I thought I'd suggest a couple things that may help to understand
what the problem may be. After the compilation, when it could not find
the files you mentioned, it sounds like they may not have been in the
directory path that was expected. If you could not find them you might
use the find commmand to see if they exist and if so, where they are.
Maybe use: find / -name bluefish . Also, check out the options for
the rpm command. It can check and find the list of installed packages,
or which package a file belongs to, failed dependencies, and info about
the specified package.
