Try "modprobe 3c59x" instead. The 3c90x module only works with some
types of 90x cards, and if this card was purchased recently, you may
have to upgrade the kernel to 2.2.18 for 90x to work. Oh yes, you
cannot set IRQ and I/O parameters for PCI cards; that's why you're
getting the last error message you report.

Another way to do this: have the command output to a file, and read
the file. Ie:
fork()
child process:
close stdout
open a file as stdout
exec() command
parent process:
wait for child process to terminate
read file

Good God, man! They just released the beta a week ago or so. I highly
doubt anyone would be selling it yet. Come to think of it, I don't
think I have _ever_ seen any distributor selling a _beta_ release of
RedHat. Just download the ISO's yourself and burn them. Or find
someone w/ fast access nice enough to do it for you and mail you the
CD's for a small fee.

AFAIK, Linus (Torvalds) just released a new version of kernel 2.2.18 (!),
containing additional USB support.
USB printers should work with this kernel, I think.

Have you tried installing the latest rhs-printfilters? I use cups now,
but before switching I used printtool to install my 842c, and I'm pretty
sure that it (or, perhaps, 840) was among the choices of printers.

You probably need to login to that page somewhere along the way. Trying
to get the source from the command line bypasses that login step, and
you get an error. Browse to the page normally, and use your "\" key to
view the source.

Cron sends the Std-out of the programm/script to you.
You have to put
MAILTO=""
into the head of your crontab source (/etc/crontab)
and you should invoke your cronned "commands" like this:
do-that 2>&1>/dev/null
This catches the STD/STDERR-Out of your progie/script
and dumps that into the Blackhole of no return ... ;->

Are you talking about a kernel in rpm format? Kernel's are not
distribution specific. It looks like your best bet would be to go to
www.linuxnewbie.org go in to there NHF (newbie help files) area then go
to kernel compilation and follow the step by step instructions as to
compiling a new kernel. You should download the latest kernel from
www.kernel.org. This will be in tar.gz format but in no way does this
mean it will not work on Red Hat. you can then add your driver as a
module if needed. hope this helps

Not usually. Various ssh's and ssl's are sort of incompatible. I am
staying at ssh 1.2.*, because 2.* is not somewhere where I want to be.

Building anything against openssl is usally a pain. One usually gets to

If you are using IE5 you are not on the same machine, and don't have
the same (unroutable) IP address for a start.

Both previous posters explained a few important details,
but I still feel the most important thing has been missed.
DO NOT print your shadowed password file to a web page!
If you choose to do so, make absolutely sure that you
have taken every possible precaution to make sure only the
properly authorized people have access to it. The best thing
to do is to still NEVER print this sort of thing to a web
page.

Just to add: The files are moved because of limitation in the iso9660
specs, both with respect of length of file name, but also because the
dept of a directory tree is very limited, and any file at a deeper
level needs to be moved or excluded from the CD. Both RockRidge and
Joliet makes a parellel directory structure, which does not have this
limitations.

If path of YourApp.info file in INFOPATH, *and* YourApp.info cited in some
INFOPATH file named 'dir' (like '/usr/local/info/dir'):
$ info YourApp
will work.
If YourApp.info file not installed in INFOPATH, do
$ info -f path/filename
To see your INFOPATH, the one defined at 'info' command compile time,
$ strings `which info` | less # / INFOPATH
'INFOPATH' is a list of `:' separated paths, and can be an environment var,
I think.
I do not know how else get the default INFOPATH of info command.
To know how to navigate with info command: $ info info
And if you know Emacs, 'C-h i' will bring you in some 'dir' (or all '.../dir')
in your INFOPATH, or something like that.
