I have an old DOS game called Sherlock which I would like to run under Dosemu. It does not work, just hangs up - both in a console (ctl-alt-F2) and in an xterm window - requires a "kill" to get out (the console even needs a kill -9). In both cases I ran "dosemu -home". It was a freshly downloaded copy of 1.0.2, default install, on a Red Hat 6.2 system, but I could also try Red Hat 7.0 (or even upgrade to 7.2 if it would help).
I am pretty sure I remember that the game uses some sort of weird graphics mode - if run under Windoze it MUST be run full-screen, not in a window, and if you do an alt-enter to put it in a window it freezes (under Win 98 you can restore it to full screen and continue, under WinNT if you do this the game is DEAD even if you restore it to full-screen). Now, the question is, how do I attack this? I have been reading this list for a while but haven't really tried to USE Dosemu. I am skilled programmer, I just don't know this particular product. So, I don't really expect anyone to solve this for me, but I would appreciate some help getting going on it. Thanks in advance.
