If you have an ISA modem that is a real modem, it has a UART, and that (not
a "serial port", though serial ports also have UARTs) is what ttyS* devices
really point to. Which ttyS* device you use depends on the IRQ and IO base
used by the card, same as it would for an ordinary serial port.
