Lemmie tell you something-- If I hadn't seen Red Hat and heard about it, I
would have never used Linux... Red Hat has one good thing going for it--
it weans a user into the Linux world. I typically don't use RPM to
install programs-- I get the source tarball and compile it myself....
although in the beginning, RPM was the easy thing to do. I try to
configure most of my files by hand, instead of using the RH only tools.
That way, I can learn to configure _any_ Linux system as opposed to just
one Linux system.
It's all in what you're going to use Linux for, really. No reason to have
a flame war over it.
