Good point about how can a newbie say Redhat sucks, it is his opinion of
course but it would be a rash statement considering he said the magic word,
that being "Newbie".

Now lets look at it in a different perspective.

Redhat want to make money by offering a ready to install system, i have no
problem with that but i also dont like the direction in which they are
going, thats my opinion, i would in no way say Redhat sucks on the contuary,
no one makes you use rpm's, you can install any software you want by using
tar in the same way you would on a slackware system for example.

On another note realy to defend Redhat, they are producing what the consumer
wants, by this i mean folks want to install linux but it has to be like
Widows because thats all they know about, so like any company who wants to
make money Redhat are giving folks what they want.
Thier product may look like widows but i can assure you its not.

If you want to use a basic linux distribution then install slackware.,
anyway its not what you install its "how" you use the installation
afterwards.
