It is helpful to know that the connection works in Windows Terminal. On the
other hand, an extract from your log file (usually /var/log/messages) with
the messages posted by unsuccessful EzPPP and dip attempts would be more
informative and might let me, or someone else on the list, pinpoint the
problem rather than make wild guesses. (If you do choose to post this, be
sure to replace any appearance of your password with a note that the
password was shown here.)

This is just in response to the PPP portion of your posting. With no
information about how you are running X, I can't even begin to think about
the mouse oddity you describe.
